A voice for childhood hunger in Denver

Joe Sakic has played a vital role off the ice with The Food Bank of the Rockies. Joe and his wife, Debbie, have been involved with this organization for 12 years by hosting the annual Joe Sakic Celebrity Classic Golf Tournament. Over the past 12 years, Joe and Debbie have been able to help Food Bank of the Rockies provide 12.5 million meals to Colorado children in need.

"What the Food Bank does for the community keeps growing," Sakic said. "There are so many children who are in need of food and together we provide millions of meals for them. Half of those kids are under 5. They can’t support themselves and it's important that we give back, support the cause, and try to provide nutrition for them."
